UHB Data
As a health system serving the population of Birmingham and beyond, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) seeks to deliver excellent care today, and even better care tomorrow.
Data is critical to that mission, We use data to recognise and respond to the current and future needs of the population we serve.
Data can help us measure how well the treatments and care we provide meet those needs, to identify means to improve that care, and increasingly, to make research discoveries that can improve the care of not only our own local population, but people cared for beyond our own organisation.
Our Aims
The Research Development & Innovation (RD&I) Department aims to support clinicians, analysts and researchers who are committed to using data to improve patient care and the population's health and well-being to safely access data for these purposes. RD&I provides specialist support in ethical applications, governance, and secure data and Trust Research Environment infrastructures.
Our Commitment
We are committed to safe data stewardship and ethical and responsible use of data to improve patient care and the health and well-being of the populations we serve. We are committed to our patient's data safety whilst maximising the value of ethically approved healthcare research, through the publication and dissemination of research findings, from all studies conducted on data.
