Project title Evaluating the clinical utility of CPET parameters in Adult Congenital Heart Defect (Fontan and Tetrollogy of Fallot)
Lay summary"The aim of this project is to use Cardio-pulmonary exercise test parameters as additional prognostic tools for initial management of Chronic Heart Failure for Adult Congenital Heart Disease Patients: Fontan patients’ cohort: To correlate Gas exchange Pulmonary capacitance( GX¬¬cap) with VE/VCO2 slope, and Heart failure assessment confirmation (NICE guidelines), to see if GXcap might be a possible tool for looking at mortality risk with ACHD (fontan patients), as well as chronic heart failure initial assessment (NICE guidelines)"
Public benefit statementThis study will benefit Fontan patients to have non-invasive procedure instead of invasive procedure, which can help reduce the risk of infection and mortality risk. It will also help the management of chronic heart failure diagnosis before the assessment of echocardiography which reduces NHS healthcare spending cost.
